Kansas Municipal Utilities will be holding mobile crane certification and examination classes for digger derrick, service truck, and mobile crane operators. OSHA’s updated crane standard requires that operators of lifting equipment be trained, evaluated and tested in order to obtain certification. Each participant will attend a classroom session and (1) exam date to complete the certification.

What Do These Classes and Certification Consist Of:

Kansas Municipal Utilities (KMU) and the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU) have partnered to provide mobile crane certification and examination classes for digger derrick, service truck, and mobile crane operators in October 2018. The certification course will include three (3) days of classroom instruction and one (1) day for a certification exam (Thurs. Oct. 18 or Fri., Oct. 19) with an 80% pass requirement, and a practical exam for certification of mobile crane. The course will also include a class and practical exam for the signal-person and rigging qualifications.

  Who Should Attend?

Digger derrick and service truck crane operators who do not currently hold a mobile crane operator’s certification.
