Utilities Supervisor

The City of Abilene, Kansas, population of approximately 6,800, is accepting applications for the position of Utilities Supervisor. Under the supervision of the Public Works Director, the Utilities Supervisor is a non-exempt position under FLSA. This position is responsible for supervising and directing the maintenance and daily operations of all water production, distribution, wastewater collection & treatment. Supervising department personnel, operating equipment and performing manual labor are required. This position assists with inspection, coordination and public communications for public infrastructure projects completed by the City as required. This employee should possess strong mechanical aptitude, and strong communication and public relation skills.

Electric Lineman

The City of Sterling, is accepting applications for the position of Electric Lineman. Sterling has a population of approximately 2,500 citizens and is home to Sterling College. The community is actively growing.

TYPE: Full Time

SALARY: Salary DOQ. Benefits include 9 paid holidays, sick leave, vacation, health insurance, ICMA-RC retirement plan. The City of Sterling participates in KPERS.

Minimum requirements include the possession of a high school diploma/GED, a valid driver’s license. Experience preferred. If not previously obtained, individual must complete City apprentice requirements and make progress toward journeyman. Major duties include metering, various distribution construction, equipment operation, distribution and substation maintenance and planning.

Assistant Public Works Director

The City of Douglass, Kansas is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Assistant Public Works Director.
Position description:
Under the direction of the Public Works Director assists with the management, planning and scheduling of all activities and operations involving the public works department. This position will assist with difficult professional and administrative work overseeing the treatment and supply of water, waste water treatment plant, building and grounds related to the operations of the City.

Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
A valid driver’s license.

A two year combination of education and experience in a related field is preferred.
Class I water and wastewater operation’s license through KDHE.

Utility and Maintenance Worker

The City of Altamont is hiring a full-time utility and maintenance worker in our Public Works Department. Experience with electric, gas, water, sewer, sanitation, and maintenance preferred. Utility workers are required to take call at least one weekend out of the month and must be available for emergencies as they arise. Potential applicants must have or be able to obtain a CDL license.
